Bring your wallet.
Ask manager food costs.

This is true. I think a lot of it was good debate and discussion. It got a little off at times, but it happens.
P.S. Go eat a Caesar salad!

From where? We've talked about 2,323 pizza places in this thread.
If you're going to MM, seriously do get the Holy Shitake. Add bacon.

About what? You can't even form a simple, coherent statement about what you're even talking about.

You're always welcome to go find a babe thread on the OT or something else.
Yet another relevant quibble from you.

I, personally, thought it was an interesting discussion up to a certain point. Even the poster who started the thread enjoyed it. Not sure who you think you're going to bat for.
Not going to bat for anyone. People called out your bullshite, you started moving the argument around to try to not look dumb, and here we are 13 pages later with you claiming you've been right. It never fails.

I split a salad and a medium pizza with a man and we had a slice to take home. Not bad for $25 (pre tax and tip).
+1. We tend to bring two slices home from a 3-topping medium + split small Greek. If I am really hungry one slice makes it home. Throw in two glasses of wine + 2 pints of 420 the price starts escalating, but that happens anywhere.
I don't think I have had Domino's pizza in over 10-years. Next thing we discuss is Little Caesar's food cost and quality....

I don't get the anchor on a thread like this. People are active and interested so some admin decides they don't like it?

I don't get it either.
Maybe because it was the same people contributing over several pages, thus no "new" interest?
A couple of new people did come in toward the end though.

This seems to be a pattern.

That's what I was getting. Think I will add the bacon. My wife and I pick up a pizza from there every now and then or sit out on the patio when it's nice - the BR location.

There's been interesting discussion throughout the whole thread, even in the more inflammatory posts there was some decent discussion.

I think this is the pizza I got last time and it was really good.

Just a friendly reminder...

I ordered a Caesar salad. It was really good! Good lettuce to dressing ratio. Delicious, fresh croutons. And shavings of parmesan cheese. I'm also pretty sure that the dressing contained anchovy paste, as it should! YUM!
Everyone that mentions MM to me, says that the Holy Shitake pizza is the best. I'm a mushroom luvuh, so I took their advice and went with that. I added bacon to it. First off, I wanted some meat on my pizza, and secondly...well...bacon makes everything better. And it's drizzled with a garlic aioli! Can't go wrong with that.
O.M.G! This pizza was amazing! The flavors all went well together and the crust was delicious as well.

I'm gonna drink 4 beers, be happy, and eat whatever my wife wants to order. She decided she wants to dine in.
Thanks for the reminder though.

OP-I'm curious, how was the crowd? I find it hard to see the quasi-hipster crowd on Oak eating at a chain.
Here's a hipster's take .. via a review on Yelp.
quote:
Decided to see what all the hoopla was about with Mellow Mushroom on Oak St so my wife and I checked it out. Still wasn't sure how I felt about a chain restaurant opening up on Oak Street but after this visit, I'm convinced they don't belong on Oak St.
We walked in just after 2 or 3pm but had to wait a few moments as the hostess and servers ran around trying to figure out where to seat the folks in front of us. (The balcony is a popular spot apparently.) The hostess was very personable and greeted us with a smile. So far so good.
When we were seated, our server came out and didn't introduce herself. Just started with "Hi. What can I get you to drink?" She also didn't make any suggestions and didn't mention any specials. "Ok. Guess we're on our own with this place, sweetheart." I got a water with lemon and my wife got the Bayou Bramble drink. Her drink was not bad but we both didn't think $8 was worth ordering another one.
We decided on ordering the Holy Shiitake Pizza which according to the menu includes:
"A blend of shiitake, button, and portobello mushrooms with caramelized onions on an olive oil and garlic base with mozzarella and Italian montamore cheese drizzled with garlic aioli and a spritz of black truffle oil. Garnished with fresh chives and shaved parmesan."
When we finally received our pizza, the hostess asked us how everything was....before we were able to take a bite out of our pizza. Hmm.
I took a slice and noticed that the pizza was literally dripping with oil. Not very appetizing. I managed to eat one slice and that was enough for me. I took a bite out of another slice but when a big glob of oil squirted into my mouth from the slice, I spit it out and pushed my plate away. Horrendous. My wife could only eat one slice as well. (And we were both starving.)
Overall, I don't think I'll be going back at all. But at least if this joint keeps up with the way our experience was, that's good news for the local businesses on Oak St that truly bring New Orleans cuisine into the spotlight.

The pretentious douchiness from that review is incredible.

I read that same review before I went and thought...what a dick.
