Where is the Lake House,we're new to that marina???

You would have to be in the Mandeville marina. It's the old Alex Patous/Bechacs on the Mandeville lakefront. They seem to be doing very well. The wife and I have been once, and the food, service and atmosphere were really nice. We just haven't had a chance to return.

We went on a week night, and sat on the first floor by a window. Really nice to look out at the lake front. I don't know if they offer this all the time, but you ordered your entree, and you made your own salad and dessert from a little table off to the side. The food on the table was fresh and well stocked and the presentation was very professional...not tacky buffet.

Louisiana Grill - Big arse Burger

Louie and the Red Head - All you can eat fried fish and/or shrimp.
I get the fish only, but getting through the first serving is not easy.

Broken Egg = very overrated

What exactly do you find overrated about this. I know the food and the atmosphere doesn't compete with Waffle House and IHOP, but I think they do a pretty good job.

Does anyone know if Vicky Baylee is still involved with the Lake House.

I thought the OP asked for Mandeville, so I will suggest Juniper or Neuvelori(sp). Close by, like others have said, La Provence and Sal and Judy's are very good also.

Been to Broken Egg 3 times because a friend recommended. The food is average at BEST. Service isn't that great. It is in a nice location, only a few blocks from the Lakefront, however I would not recommend it.

Fair enough. I have been 3 or 4 times to the Mandeville location and once in Sandestine and have enjoyed it each time. The omelettes and crab cake bennedict with andouille/shrimp sauce and the regular eggs bennedict were all great.

I have lived in Mandeville all my life. Here is a list for you:

Best Steak: Keith Youngs or N'tinis (Sal & Judy's has a great ribeye)
Best Burger: Rusty Pelican
Best Mexican: Casa Garcia
Best Po Boys: Bears
Best Sushi: Little Tokyo
Nice Dinner: Sal & Judy's (Lacombe), Juniper, Nuvolari's
Best Chinese: Trey Yuen
Best Pizza: Pizza Man (Covington)
Best Seafood: LA Grill
Great Lunch: Bistro Byronz
Best Italian: Sal & Judys (Lacombe) or Bosco

I agree with the previous posters about Rips - Great view, terrible service and below avg food

Mortons is ok for average seafood and good location

I agree with your entire list except best sushi. Gotta give that title to Sake Garden.

Have to disagree on the Best Mexican choice. Casa Garcia is not very good IMO. Overall I think most Mexican in Mandeville is not very good.

As for one of my favorite places to eat in Mandeville: Fazzio's is excellent.

If you can get over the location, Cafe Lynn has good food.

I have heard numerous people say that Cafe Lynn is great...but I haven't been.

And correction on me agreeing with the entire list...as I've actually never been to Casa Garcia. I do like Carreta's....though I don't find it great. I just don't think there are any great choices for mexican on the Northshore.

And I'll add one...India4U is really good indian food. I wish we had one closer to the wank.

Who says there is a problem?

BTW Cafe Lynn is very good, just a bit odd that it is in an old Burger King building

Fazio's is pretty good also, but Boscos is great (even though it has an out of the way location off of Hwy 59).

I agree with the comment about no great Mexican food but Casa Garcia is better than George's, Carettas. Mamacita's is pretty good

Totally agree with Bosco's being added. I actually ate their for lunch yesterday - not sure how I forgot to mention them? They have best italian in town.

When I mentioned Fazzio's, I wasn't thinking Italian believe it or not. Their seafood dishes (soft shell crab, especially) are great too. And love the bang bang shrimp.
