I'm looking for a good restaurant near the Roosevelt.

Requirements:

1. Not too expensive: I'm taking 10 people there and I will be paying. (i.e. not $100 a person)

2. Romantic atmosphere. I will have just proposed to my GF right before. I asked our families to a surprise dinner.

3. Walking distance from the Roosevelt.

Friend suggested Arnaud's but I have never been. Is it good?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Anxious about it all so I know I'm over analyzing the details. Thanks in advance.

Why not just go to Domenica in the hotel?

ETA: Mila isn't too far away

Domenica would be perfect for this . It's in the Roosevelt.

The fact that one of the best restaurants in the city is in the hotel he's staying at makes this thread kinda silly.

I don't find Domenica to be romantic, but it fits every other criteria and would be fine for a celebratory dinner with family.

I don't think you need a romantic restaurant for the family/large group. Romantic should be reserved for your future bride. You don't need to be in a romantic restaurant with her mother.

You're right it does. Unless you knew my GF doesn't care for Domenica. (We've gone twice and she wasn't impressed). Since this is her night, thats out. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Cafe Carmo would be pretty romantic. Great food too and good prices

Tommy's is good.

Emeril's obviously but may or may not be in your price range.

I didn't know what to call it. Romantic is a bad term. Just "atmosphere" I guess. Inotherwords not K Paul's atmosphere.

Most restaurants that fit the criteria you are looking for are going to be at least $75 per person which will include drinks Don't think you are going to get out cheap on this one.

I don't get the K-Paul's reference. Do you want something quiet?

I agree. Put myself in the poor house on the ring. Now I'm trying to economize. I have it backwards. Haha.

What night of the week?

I live Arnaud's for old New Orleans food. Oyster apps are delicious, but I think it will be above your desired price range.

Some will sneer, but Muriel's had a 3 course menu for a fixed price and lovely atmosphere in my opinion. The food is solid. It's not a wow restaurant but would serve your purpose well.

Muriel's
Arnauds
Mila
Tableau
Bourbon House?

Are what I've got so far.
Some are not as close as I would like but that's ok.

Well the fact is the Roosevelt just simply isn't that close to many restaurants. Add Borgne and Meauxbar to your list of maybes. Peche isn't really walkable but it's a great restaurant .

Walk four blocks to the Kingfish. I found it pretty solid, but Domenica is the correct answer.
