I’m about 95% sure I’m going to order the 590 in a week or so. Pros? Cons? I really haven’t read anything bad about the rectec’s and the people I know who own them seem to love them

Love my 680(model before 700). Service, if you ever need it, is great.

Have owned a 590 for a little over a year...completely satisfied. No issues but from everything I read in grill forums if I did their customer service reputation is top notch.

Only limit is on high temp searing...if that is a feature important to you get the grill grates add on.

Have you done steaks on it? I saw that make the searing stuff for it but it’s sold out

I have had a 590 for about a year. I use it for steaks a few times a month. I use the grill grates and the steaks come out great. The big one is about a 16oz ribeye and the 2 smaller ones were a 10oz filet that I cut in half because my wife likes hers medium well. I did some of the best pulled pork I’ve every tasted on it a couple months ago. I cook on it a couple times a week because it’s so easy to use. My only issue is the thermometer probes that came with the grill don’t read accurately, I haven’t contacted them to see if they would exchange them for me because I usually just use an instant read probe.

I've got a 3 year old Mini. At that time they were still painting them.

That is the only issue I've had. Paint peeling and surface rust.

A couple months ago the internal temp probe went out. Even out of warranty, they promptly sent a new one free of charge.

I love my 700 Bull, only flaw I can come up with are the wheels. It is fine if you use it stationary, but if you move it in and out of a covered area to use as I do the wheels will not hold up to any bumps for long. The steering wheels on mine folded after a year and Rec Tec sent new ones asap. I went ahead and did the Rec Tec wheel mod on mine for about $50, shouldn't have to worry about them anymore.

If Rec Tec is out of grill grates just check Amazon for any aftermarket supplier. They are all about the same.

590 has an all stainless cooking chamber so rust shouldn't be an issue with that model.

I have the 590 and absolutely love it, no problems whatsoever. It’s built much sturdier than a Traeger.

The only negative I can think of is that their cover doesn’t hold up when running over it with a riding lawnmower.

I too am looking at the 590, although I recently ran across the Camp Chef SmokePro SG 24. The main reason I am swaying toward the Camp Chef is that you can add a Propane burner "sidekick" to the side of the grill for cooking/searing. I like cast iron cooking outside also. I don't see where Rec Tec offers a burner add on. If they did the 590 would be a no brainer for me.

That’s about the only thing I wish mine had sometimes. The grill grates do a good job searing but I’d love to be able to have an open flame for some stuff.

I was debating between the 590 and 700. Went with the bull. I've had it two weeks today and only thing I'm mad about is that I waited so long to get one. Love this thing. I've always used my WSM but this thing is awesome. I've been using lumberjack and cookin pellets. Puts out plenty of smoke. Will be doing brisket this weekend. Very versatile and built like a tank.
