Just yelped it. That place looks like it's on a whole different level.

I'm not one to go wild over a steak restaurant. I went wild over Doris. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The place is pretty, the atmosphere is fun (saw a woman order the $150 cut and pass out face down in it ), the choices are unique.. and it was all executed perfectly. Plus, having lots of Israeli wine choices was way cool.

If you get it rare-"charred", they'll place it on top of the oven where it gets an awesome dark crust outside.

FYI this is "Pittsburgh rare"

Just a heads up, if you order a steak Pittsburgh it might come out blue instead of rare.

True. I've never had that problem, but it's usually because most restaurants aren't equipped to do a true Pittsburgh steak--most grills don't get hot enough. I believe Ruth's finishes the steak in their broiler. The cooks at outback will actually put the meat directly on the stove burner to char it.

Don't want to derail this thread, as there have been two mentions of this place already, but Doris Metropolitan is currently my favorite steak restaurant in NOLA.

As for Ruth Chris - I follow the same game plan every time:
1) BBQ Shrimp appetizer
2) Filet
3) Creme Brulee

Next time I'm there I'll have to give a few of the items in the thread a try.
