I'd prefer the flame from the bottom. Why? Idk...just seems like it would turn out a better product.

We had one in our kitchen at the house I grew up in with flames on top. It also had a griddle on top of it. Made awesome cheese toast underneath, and we used it to cook several things. I'd go dual purpose like that if I were you. It would be great for searing stuff, cooking bacon and eggs, etc.

I have not made burgers or chicken breasts on it yet but I think it would work perfectly for both. The flame/heat is infinitely adjustable allowing just about anything to come out nicely cooked. The h-shaped burner inside the top of the cooker is separated from the outer steel cover by a layer of fire brick that holds a ton of heat. I haven't noticed any hotspots with mine. If we end up losing power here in Houston during the storm, I'll be cooking all kinds of new foods in my broiler.

Yeah well, I just ate some left over rice a roni!

Those tuna steaks look great. Good luck with this storm.

I've debated between getting that Cajun broiler or one of the Pizzaparty Gas/Wood Pizza Ovens.m to complement my egg and backwoods smoker. One of these days I will decide and get one.
