I have heard that Gatusso's in Gretna has a good one as well.

I have no idea where all the hype comes from, but I've tried the roast beef at Domilise's.....and it was horrible. Their shrimp was average at best, too.

The place has been around forever. I agree with your assessment.

Yep. It is almost the perfect Roast Beef po-boy. Everything is great, but they seriously need to season it a bit more.

Tracey's is very good. I recommend it highly.

R&O's is not my favorite. I don't like the bread and the RB doesn't have the best taste.

Mahoney's is awesome, but yeah, it's like $14 or something. Too much for a sandwich.

Liuzza's by the Track has a good RB Po-Boy, in my opinion, although if I went there again, I'd have the BBQ Shrimp Po Boy.

Tracey's is too dry for my taste.

My favorite used to be Eddie Power's place called Mr E's (now George's Po Boys) off Severn near Drago's. It's been a few years so I don't know if they are still around.

The best one in town (and no one talks about it) is at Elizabeth's in the bywater. Trust me on this. The problem is they only serve it tues-fri from 11am-2pm but its worth the trip. They also have awesome thin hand cut fries and sweet potato fries. THIS is the best RB poboy in nola....I've tried all the others.

Love the charm of the place but gotta agree. It's not a bad po-boy just doesn't "wow" me. I like Cooter Brown's Manager's Special. Hot RB and smoked ham with swiss.

I love Elizabeth's but I have never had their poboy. Grits and grillades with a side of praline bacon. Mmmmm

I like the Balboa poboy at Storyville. Add gravy to it and it's amazing. Soft bread, loaded with cheese and beef. Very underrated place.

Agree with Powerman about Parkway's roast beef. It has almost absolutely no flavor whatsoever. But I like Parkway overall.

I had a Radosta's roast beef last week and it was pretty damn good.

I was in Crabby Jacks on Saturday and thought about going roast beef, but went shrimp instead. I saw someone's though and it looked pretty sloppy.

Be glad you didn't... It's processed thin slices, and fricking gross.
