Well that’s false
We regularly use protein in our house to refer to any number of things that are meat substitutes and are high/relatively high in protein. My partner is also a vegetarian, so that probably skews things.

When someone says "meat" you can extend that to fish. "Protein" is ridiculous. Those things also contain fats.
