Range / Oven Recommendations (GAS)

I'm in the market for a residential 36" range and oven.
I'd like something nice, with 4-5 burners, larger burners are awesome. I don't really want a griddle or griddle option if I can avoid it.
I know commercial brands, but what is good for a home?
I'm replacing one that came with the house, prob 20 years old. Anything is going to be an upgrade.
The one now is white top, and is a pain in the arse to clean.
Easy clean would be great.
Was thinking of checking out Appliance dist of la on nicholson and maybe whoever carries viking?
What's new and cool? I'd like to buy right the first time.

Viking isn't what it used to be, from what I've read.
If I were buying now, I'd go with Capital.

I think a range, by definition has an oven...and you're n luck because there are some super cool options out there. Budget is key, these things are surprisingly expensive. Options like dual fuel, gas cooktop with electric oven, and self cleaning ovens can drive up the price quickly as well. They start at around $4k. If I was replacing mine if probably buy a BlueStar.

I own a 30" 4-burner Blue Star. It is wonderful. Built like a tank. I will never need to buy another range, ever. How many $4K purchases will last a lifetime? Even on the 30", the oven will just fit a full sheet pan, and the oven has three racks (incl a heavy duty ball bearing roller one).
A few notes on the Blue Star: it has NO electronics. No timer, no alarm. Just a bitty blue light that turns on when the oven is preheating & turns off when it comes up to temp. Only electrical items are oven lights & the igniters. The igniters can be changed w/a Phillips head screwdriver. I am not a fan of fancy electronics placed next to high heat (which describes most high BTU residental ranges).
A BS is does not have sealed burners; stovetop is open below, with a drip pan. Thus, the burners can be much higher BTU than a sealed burner stove.....top of stove is modular cast iron parts.

I've been very happy with my Thermador. It's great stuff without being as pricey as the Vikings and such.

Those are incredible, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much until I get a newer house.
I was thinking maybe a $900 samsung from best buy or a $1350 kitchen aide from stantons.
Would I be messing up going so cheap?

I bought my kitchen aid with stantons.... Gas, with the gas convection oven. It's this years model. I've had it for about 5 months now.
Review:
Bad things first... Had to have some electronic piece replaced already and I don't care for the burners that much.... They function, but I'm not crazy about their design. however it isn't a commercial grade stove so I deal with it.
Good things:
Burners function well and are easy to clean. Although, the oven takes a bit to heat up(no idea what a good time is) it cook evenly and well. It doesn't get too hot, the knobs work smoothly and it's a continuous cast iron grate.
I'd buy again if putting in the same "style/cost" home. The replacement part made the oven inoperable. It was a fail safe for the fan. No prob since.
I also have the matching kitchen aid dishwasher.

For some reason the jump up to 36", from 30", is a pricey one. I had to have a 36 since I was replacing one as well, and damn it was a pill to swallow. Good luck, update us on what you get.

I have this Frigidaire Professional 30" range that I love. I got it from Stine for about $1,200 after some negotiation. Absolutely no regrets. I really like the oval burner in the center for my oval Staubs and Magnalite.

Check out Bosch. They are in that range if I recall properly, and they make great products. Thermador is the higher end of Bosch if I'm not mistaken.
