I’m out west now there’s ramen everywhere. Can’t eat it unless it’s below 40 degrees out - it’s not summer food to me.

I agree. If I'm going to eat ramen it had better be really cold out. Colder than it almost ever gets in Lafayette.

Hell, ramen shops were all the rage here 4-5 years ago. They're already starting to close up. The fad has passed here.

Here's my lone experience at Greyson's
quote:

They've dumped a ton of money into the place, but haven't invested in a website or even landed themselves on google. Once, when I was shopping at Victoria's and because there's virtually nothing online about Greyson's, I decided to stop into the restaurant to check out any sort of menu. It was about 6:30pm, the time where there should be diners in the restaurant. It was a ghost town. No diners, and no staff, and I mean zero staff. They apparently have no doorbell to alert them in the kitchen when a customer enters because I stood there for a few minutes. I looked around for a to go menu by the door and saw nothing. I walked my way to the counter closest to the kitchen and again looked for any sign of a menu, to go or regular, or even anyone who worked there...nothing. I did hear a small child whimpering and a female's voice come from the kitchen, but after almost five minutes of being the only entity in the dining room, I decided to leave. I love my Asian food, but as far as that experience went, it was a fail in every way possible. Perhaps someone whose actually received service there can interject how the food is. I'm not giving that place a chance to succeed.

Fair criticism on the service, I've blacklisted French Press for similar reasons. My own experience with Greyson's service has ranged from less than adequate to OK.

The pho and bahn mi really are top notch though.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how Baton Rouge will support the frick out of sushi restaurants and pho joints, but we don't have a single Ramen house.

There's an Asian fusion place opening up on Government. Not a ramen specific place, but i"ve heard they have it. Soji
