Baws, thoughts on Whole 30?

I'm looking to start eating clean and looking for a plan to get started.

Anyone have any other good plans for beginners?

I've been doing keto since January 27th.
I incorporated intermittent fasting into the mix about 3-4 weeks after that, and have gone from 237 to 216#.

I've read some about whole 30, but haven't done it.

The diet I'm on is working and sustainable. I think you have to find what's gonna do both of those things.

Whole 30 is a great way to remove all the crap from your diet and gradually add in food items to see how you feel. You can't even use butter, but ghee is fine. Ghee is awesome anyway. I think whole foods has 30 compliant bacon.

It's a good program. Similar to keto in that it switches you to burn fat, but allows "more" carbs. I have the book, which has some great recipes in it. It removes added sugar from your diet. Which, to me, is the biggest devil out there.

Another great weekend is here!

24 hour fast from 7pm last night until 7pm tonight. Dinner reservations at Austin's steakhouse!

Half day of work today so I'm going to burning as many calories I can before tearing up this steak and jazz fest foods this weekend.

forgot to get on the scale this morning

Headed down to Pensacola this weekend for a little relaxing and visiting the family. Gym first before me and the lady leave this evening though.

Also, seeing your mention of reverse sear reminds me that I need to learn how to cook a steak without a grill. I've never done it before and have 2 filets in the freezer that I've gotta cook sometime.

WHole 30 is a great great diet but not east to stick to. But if you can do it for 30 days it and then slowly add in one food at a time it will show you what food you can handle and which you can't.

A big thank you to LSU777.

I'm down 18# and 3" off my waist in the last 7 weeks due to his information and advice. Intermittent fasting and eating a lot more fat than I thought I could or should. Strong and getting stronger in all my workouts.

Thanks again for your time and willingness to share your info here.

Thats great to hear man. Thats awesome results. Keep it up and post more often in this thread.

BTW for those that are going to try overhead squat; realize that shite is no joke. Even if you are flexible enough, dropping straight down into the hole like it forces you to is going to fry your quads and you are not nearly as strong as you think you are. A 45lbs bar will humble your arse quickly.

BTW I did squats last night and I have defiantly lost strength since dropping the 25 lbs of fat. Which sucks. Not a ton and it was expected on a lift like squats were leverage is key, but I was still disappointed. I will try again next week and see if it was just me not feeling good.

Thats ok though because when I get done with this cut and back from vacation I am going to spend 18 months with Wendler with the goal being to gain 15-20lbs of muscle in the first 38-48 weeks while remaining below 10% BF. Will let everyone know how it goes.

really want to try one of these today just for the hell of it. It seems like a pretty terrible idea though.

I did the bar this morning just to gauge what I'm gonna do next week.

I could probably handle a 25 on each side, but I'm not gonna test my luck. I'll do a few sets with some 10's and bump it up from there next week after actual squats.

You're right though, it hits shite you never knew you had.
