oh, I see you want to get into the "are fruits complex or simple carbs?" debate.

You can have fruit but you just have to be selective on what types of fruit you eat. Just make sure to stay away from fruits that are high in sugar. Fruits such as apples, banana's, peaches and pineapple are fine. Grapes are def something to stay away from

Don't think there should be a debate, fruits are very much so a simple carb. But the nutrients and fiber you get make them worth eating.

yeah, dietary fiber is a type of complex carbohydrate.

either way you're right, the natural sugar in fruits (especially the lower sugar fruits) make them healthy to eat. especially compared to all the bullshite flavored juices and other sweetened drinks and foods.

ETA: oh btw, weighed myself this morning..

Fair enough. The sugar is a simple carb, though. So they're a bit of both

Yeah I figured you were a bit heavier than me because you lift and I don't.

It's crazy, just 3 years ago I was down to 155 .. but that was a product of being poor living in NYC never eating and walking everywhere. Ballooned back up to 183 when I moved back to Louisiana. Trying to get back down to a healthier weight and also tone up a bit. Not sure where I added that 28 lbs .. because I don't have very much body fat. Thinking maybe I shedded baby fat then when I put weight back on it was just "man weight" as my gf calls it.

I'm not paying money to join a gym. Never have, never will. I get enough exercise from running, pushups, pullups and being active.

Since when was this an exercise thread?
I've always exercised alot and had decent strength. But this thread is alot about your diet and eating habits. That's why I'm posting. I don't really need gym or workout advice. But I could use help on the losing weight and diet portion
