Congrats Hulk!

Yesterday was a travesty for me, I ate everything in sight at my LSU party. Scared to get on the scale this morning. Will probably just wait til tomorrow morning.

Thanks Myth, what seems to be the prob? You gaining?

Lack of willpower at the moment has caused a total collapse.

Starting fresh today. I still have a several days of carb food but next trip to the store I am back on Atkins.

So I know you are not much on exercising, but check this out. I just got into running and I love it. I really don't view running as my calorie burning stuff to get me into shape, I just really like to do it. It's no joke that it really makes you feel great after a good run. As a side though, I know eating right and staying light is only going to help me run. I got into couch to 5k just 4 short weeks ago. And at under 190 and going to the gym multiple times a week, i still couldn't run more than a minute or so at a time. Just today I ran week 4 day 1 which is:
run-3 mins
walk-90 secs
run-5 mins
walk- 2.5 mins
run- 3 mins
walk 90 secs
run- 5 mins

So I said all that to say this. I bet you would enjoy running more than you think. And you wouldn't view it so much as exercise, but in the grand scheme of things it actually is and would burn a good 1500 cals a week.

I burn about 1200 to 1600 a week riding my bike.

I am not anti-exercise. I just think MOST people on a diet end up going overboard with the exercise and quit both the diet and the exercise.

I wish I could blame my recent problems on my body balancing out but I've been eating anything and everything not nailed down.

I had a good eating day yesterday and my willpower and control have slowly returned.

Dropped 3 freaking pounds of water weight since yesterday.

Dang Chinese buffet really ripped me up on Saturday.

I hadn't hit the Chinese buffet in 16+ months so I was due and now that I have that cheat out of the way, there aren't any junk foods I am dying to eat.

So.....sanity has returned and the cookie monster section of my brain has once again been put back in its cage.

i have two good friends that are both registered dietitians/nutritionists .. and they both recommend not even really exercising when you first start a diet .. they recommend getting used to the lifestyle change and adjustments that your body has to make with the reduced calories and/or shift in intake ... i am pretty sure one of them recommends giving your new diet at least 30 days before you start an exercise program and then, take it slow .. it is exactly what you are saying .. people that are badly overweight will suddenly wake up, eat two salads and try to run five miles on their first day ... you are not in any kind of shape to even exercise at first .. drop some weight .. then exercise .. totally agree with you ..

I came up with this plan based on 20 years of failure. Every diet in the past included me joining a gym and working myself to death along with a diet. After two months I would almost always quit both the gym and the diet. Oh and on top of that, then I would pay the damn gym for another six months to a year before quitting.

i "like" both tigahrag and myth's posts.

PS did 6 gap this weekend.. god in heaven..104 miles including 11,000 feet of climbing. there was no level ground at all. you were either dragging your arse up a 7 mile climb or descending with white knuckles on the brakes of your bike.

..and it was insanely fun!

Your idea of fun and what rational people consider fun differs greatly.

I find that diagram fun like the fun from a colonoscopy.

Hulk,
I'm not posting my weight again until the first number is a 1. I will tell you that I'm a tad closer than you, but not much. Good luck, and keep up the good work. Maybe we'll hit it on the same day.

I don't even care anymore. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing, I am still losing, albeit slowly. So I'm not going to be concerned with how fast it goes - as long as it goes.

Did a 20 mile ride for the first time since June so I am back on the righteous straight and narrow pathway.

Good eating day so far but it is the darn night that I get in trouble.

No possible way I could keep up with your pace without a trip to the emergency room for heat failure.

323/173.5/165

I've dropped 6 pounds of water in two days. Good lord your weight really fluctuates like crazy when you eat carbs loaded with sodium.

Hopefully the scale keeps moving downward and maybe I won't have to shift back into Atkins mode. I've got about 6 more days of vittles before I need to head back to the store.

HEY!!!

Where was my Lloyd Braun Weekend Update???

Backed up a bunch this weekend in Morgantown. Too much beer and carbs. Even though i knew i had fallen back, i was shocked to weigh in at 255 on Sunday, when i was at 243 on Thursday. Must have been water weight as i was down to 246 this morning. I've been great during the week for the last 2 weeks, but my weekends have killed me. Nothing much going on for the next 2 weekends so i am going all in.

i try not to eat after 7PM every night .. but that is my fight too .. at halftime of the cowboys-redskins game last night i was tempted to break open a bag of cool ranch doritos ... instead i ate six big strawberries and pretended they were doritos ..
