Got the Detecto scale in, 3 lbs heavier on the new scale.

Well, that has to be a bummer. Did you make sure it was balanced when you got it? Hang in there, and congrats on what you have done so far.
Still no additional loss for me. I don't know what to do. Everything was going great, then I get down to the last 8 pounds and I'm dead in the water.

Keep at it. Just takes time to bust a plateau. In the meantime, try increasing exercise or lowering caloric intake.

Official 3 month update:
266.6/228/190 I didn't hit -40 lbs today like I wanted (actually gained a little from yesterday
). Still, there are a ton of positives:
1. I'm 38.6 pounds lighter than I was 3 months ago and over half way to my goal.
2. My worst week was a break even week, and that was after a planned 2 day cheat. Other than that, I have lost at least 1 lb per week.
3. I have actually enjoyed both the Atkins and Weight Watchers phases of the diet. In the past, I've had success on diets but didn't enjoy them. This time, I really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. This lets me know I'm really ready to make a long-term change.
4. I've met some really cool and inspiring people on the Puttadaforkdown thread. Thanks to all for the encouragement and I look forward to getting to know everyone better.
The only real negative that I can think of is that I have not yet started a consistent exercise regimen. If I'm not careful, I'm gonna be one of those skinny but flabby and unfit dudes. I've always thought that was worse than just being fat.

Well thought-out post and I'm in that exact same predicament. I'm just SO lazy. I can change what I'm eating but exercising just sucks

Hulk & Bham, I know that you will find that if you start moderate and build up, exercise becomes it's own reward. Integrate something you enjoy and have some fun.
My last update, after one of my hardest workout weeks ever, I had gained 3lbs. Interestingly, after pulling either a muscle or tendon in my rib cage sparring Kung Fu, and laying off two days, I dropped 4.
351/298/250 yay for tiny steps.

hey CAD I ran into a situation where I have fasted instead of eating just because. forgot to go to the store to pick up eggs for breakfast, so I skipped breakfast. I'm going to probably skip lunch just because I don't want to eat out.. If I'm just way too hungry I'll eat but otherwise I'll skip lunch and then eat dinner tonight.
ARE YOU PROUD?

When i skip meals, I get so hungry that I have zero control over what I will eat. Usually end up at some buffet and eat a week's worth of calories.

I'm actually not even hungry right now.
But I have had 2 cups of coffee, a no carb no sugar rockstar, and a 16 oz bottle of water so maybe that has something to do with ti.

Well, I haven't eaten in about 2 hours and I'm starving. Gone to lunch.

Okay I'm starving now, definitely eating lunch!

Almost back to my low point of 180.7. Took me a week to lose the damn Taco Bell weight just in time to go out to dinner tomorrow night.

Screw it. I just joined all you cheating mofos and had lunch at the Chinese buffet. I am hoping that this will confuse my body so much that I will shock it into starting to lose again.
Posted on 6/10/11 at 1:39 pm to ChenierauTigre
One key thing to remember. Don't let one Cheat turn into more. Putting all those evil carbs and tasty morsels in your body will cause you to crave more, so stay strong.
DO NOT GET FRUSTRATED.
The scale is going to pound you over the head big time tomorrow especially since it was a Chinese buffet with about 1000mgs of sodium per bite. You will retain about 100 pounds of water weight.
Hopefully that shocks your system but it might take a while to work off the buffet.
