Agree! I’m on snow day #2. I’ve worked like 5.5 days in the past month. It’s awesome.

Autophagy researcher won Nobel Prize in medicine in 2016. Autophagy is a natural process by which the body degrades and recycles damaged cells, proteins and toxins. This is the body’s way of cleaning house. It happens during starvation, calorie restriction and fasting. If the body fails to engage in autophagy, damaged cells and structures can accumulate dangerously. Autophagy is one method that the body uses to naturally neutralize cancer cells and degrade cells infected by harmful bacteria and viruses.

I loved IF, and found it extremely effective for weight loss & appetite control. I realized after the fact that IF generally isn’t great for women. It messes with our reproductive hormones & shrinks ovaries. I miss it. Keto/low carb is my dietary happy place.

I have not heard about it having problems with hormones and shrinking ovaries. I will have to look into this. Fats help big time with hormones. Were you doing keto diet while doing IF? I wonder if these IF problems occur doing a high percentage of grain or protein and not getting enough fats.

It’s great for men, but it can be bad news for women. It can even lead to early onset menopause. I haven’t read about it since last year, but from what I remember, I believe for women it had more to do with length of time between eating vs calories consumed in a day.

Hi guys
I'm still chugging along on Whole30. My weight went down to 273 (starting at 281), but has since crept back up to 277 as of this morning. Not quite sure what's up, but hopefully it drops again soon. I feel my clothes fitting better so I'm still confident I'm still dropping fat.

Damn. Hopefully it’s water retention. It’s frustrating to see fluctuations like that. Are you enjoying whole 30?

For the most part, yes. Lunchtime meals are very repetitive and boring, but for dinner the wife and I mix it up pretty well. Blue apron has whole30 options so we've done some of those too.
My energy levels are up, my workout recovery time is better. My clothes are looser. All I'm missing is the number on the scale

Aww. We can be Fitbit friends. I’ve gone from like 20th place amongst my Fitbit friends to 5-6th, thanks to the hours of walking I’ve been doing. It takes a lot more effort than I ever realized to hit 10k a day.

Just because I met them on a Dawson’s Creek message board doesn’t mean they aren’t my friends.

So the first part of this program is food tracking to give us an idea of how much we are eating/drinking over a given day and a given week.
Posted on 1/22/18 at 6:56 am to Rouge
How are they suggesting you track? An app that is part of the program? Or something like MyFitnessPal?
Posted on 1/22/18 at 8:40 am to Evil Little Thing
App part of program. Called retrofit

Hang in there, Pal. I'm pulling for you.
