If you keep the door closed it will be fine for several hours. Good luck.

Leave it shut and salvage what you can when the power comes back on. Sorry for your losses my friend and prayers sent your way.

We had two outtages here for 24 hours each.

I moved frozen items from the freezer to keep the fridge cold. This worked really well.

And I was able to eat soft Blue Bell Homemade to my hearts content.

Your mileage may vary, a lot, previous hurricane Mom and I were at the TX/LA line house because missing glass from attempted break-in. Meanwhile the residence in NELA lost power and a breaker tripped upon restoration we found out 3 days later when we got back home (while in NWLA friend doing a favor brushhogging place pulled electric down and already had to wait for glass).

We lost only a few minor items and immediately made soup out of some frozen peas/carrots that were thawed along with chicken leg quarters that were still cool but thawed. (made pizza and breakfast out of some Jimmy Dean sausage that too was thawed but cooled, and cooked then froze some hamburger also thawed but cool)

So now we're still alive and also still waiting on brick mailbox to be rebuilt where a neighbor down the street hit it during the storm around 11pm.

Summary: dental bridge from gum infection caused tooth loss, broken window break-in, electrical powerhead replaced, mailbox destroyed, some food spoilage, also burned up electric weedeater due to heavy use, yet still here and not gonna try kicking due to recent luck.

If you are like me probably 1/2 the stuff in your fridge either doesn't need refrigeration or needs thrown out anyway. If it was me and I wanted to make sure I'd throw all I could into the deep freeze and just let it be... assuming you have a deep freeze.

Yep. The only thing in mine right now are some beer, leftovers, a couple gallons of milk, lunch meat and cheese, pork chops I need to cook, and condiments.

I also keep 4 gallon jugs frozen in my chest freezer. If for some reason I did have a bunch of stuff that had to stay cold, I would just load them up in a big container and chunk it in the freezer.

You should have prepared, lower temp as low as possible and freeze case of water bottles in fridge. Will last 48 hours at least if power not back on your insurance should repay you
