They used to make Pop Rouge Ice Cream at Lagniappe on the Bayou (Church Fair in Chauvin, LA) Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

2 cups evaporated milk
2 cans condensed milk
3 Bottles Strawberry Pop
Directions:

Pour into freezer bucket by alternating evaporated milk, pop, condensed milk until emptied. Freeze in hand or electric freezer. Allow to stand a half hour before serving.

You can substitute Big Red or Barq's Red Creme. Pretty close.

My MawMaw used to give that to me. Hate that they don't make it anymore!

Pop Rouge & La Grape were marketed the same time by Coke, early 60's maybe.
