We are in Nola and my little girl wants some beignets but we don't care to stand in the rain at the tourist trap. Any other good options? We are staying at le pavilion. Thanks

Cafe beignet on Royal if you want something close. Morning call in the park if you want better scenery

Walk past the line of goobers waiting for a table outside and find a table inside. Works every time.

Morning Call in City Park is by far the best option.

If it's raining - there is a Cafe Du Monde in the Riverwalk Mall overlooking the Mississippi.

I never stand in line at CDM. The line is for amateurs. Just walk around the back, then into the middle of the restaurant, and lurk hard for anyone about to get up. As soon as they make a move... bam, jump in a chair at the dirty table, and wait for the waitress to come clean up, and give her your order. It's first come, first serve, every man for himself.
The people waiting in line think there is some kind of host, who is going to take them to the next clean available table. It's not the case. It's up to you to find a table.

I like Morning Call in City Park for the views, but from your hotel you can also take a streetcar uptown to New Orleans Coffee and Beignets. 4100 block of st Charles immediately behind the hamburger and seafood place that fronts on st Charles.
