Pizza Sauce on Homemade Pizza.....

What brand do you use? We've been switching from sauce to sauce, and still really haven't found a really good one. Lately I've been tossing in some oregano and basil from my garden, but I'm looking for something with a little more bite.

Midi is the best one I've ever tasted. Always use it over the hassle of a home made sauce.

Normally just use the monjunis pasta sauce which I think is great.

28 oz. can - each tomato puree, crushed tomatoes. 1/4 cup good olive oil. 1 Tbs. sugar, dried basil, dried oregano. 1 tsp. anise seed, granulated garlic, onion powder. Let meld, overnight, in fridge. It will set up. Freeze in 1 cup containers.

I don't like a cooked-down sauce on pizza, I prefer the lighter Italian style using straight pureed/crushed tomatoes. No seasonings, no cooking--just open the jar of tomato passata (pureed tomatoes). I like the Cento brand of passata.

This sauce is not cooked. It is just a starting point, though. I usually add crushed red pepper, and salt, and more spices.

I always buy them in Dallas and bring a case back home.
Crush lightly, add pinch of salt.

Get a can of crushed tomatoes, add a sprinkle of Italian seasoning and a tiny bit of sugar and you have the perfect sauce.

Classico makes one that I like.

Yes. Yes it does.

Why wouldn't you just use fresh? That literally makes no sense

If you have fresh, use it. My mistake - should have read OP more clearly.

Use Gees.
If you buy one buy Don Pepinos at Calandros. Yellow can and it's about two bucks. It will do several pizzas.
