they were big a beautiful one day and the next day they were all dead. pulled up the plants and the roots were all deteriorated. Beetles all up in dat stuff. its depressing.

I cooked some purple string beans tonight . They turn green when cooked. Just steamed them a bit just past crunchy (I like em a little soft southern style) then salt, pepper, bit of butter and a squeeze of lemon. Had it with a nice big piece of roasted red snapper.

I'm picking tomatos, cucumbers and Japanese eggplant. I've got a ton of tomatillos and Anaheim peppers coming in nicely. About ten days out.

Yes, blanching them now. They turn green.
