Panda Express is awful.
Was just in Pei Wei on Carrollton a few weeks ago, I thought it was decent. I think that's the first business to fail in that center.

I haven't heard anything about the Metairie once closing but it makes sense.

Well just found out about this.
Now that Chinese Combo King and Pei Wei are gone, are there any places left that do a good Orange Chicken using white meat?
I know Changs but that's a hassle unless dining in.

They were lacking on guest affinity.
I wager to bet, giving the same amount of money they had to start a restaurant, that most people in this forum could come up with a successful restaurant concept before one of those restaurant chain corporate CEOs. You have to know your market, know what works in your area. So instinctually, people living here would have better insight in what would work. They know how to look at demographics and traffic data, but they don't know the first thing about researching a market to start a new restaurant concept.
Very few corporate chains start restaurants from scratch. If they are smart, they just buy existing successful regional chains. They have proven formulas for operating restaurants but not creating them.

I can't lie.......this is disappointing to learn that it's closed.
We liked the food there. Our kids liked it, and it was a regular stop for us when traveling through BR with the various sports teams we are on because all the boys on the team liked it too, and it was conveniently close to the interstate.
RIP Pei Wei.
