For the food that we ate, definitely not expensive.

Damn fine meal b! Really solid review, I liked how you didn't hold back on things you found to be off. The pickle w/ shrimp does indeed sound like strange bedfellows. Hope they have that bisque on the menu next time I go. Haven't seen it before and it sounds delicious. And for sure the lamb skewers are a hidden gem on that menu.

So Jealous. You definitely did it the right way but it would be hard for me to not order a whole fish or fish head or fish cheeks.

We wanted a whole fish, but neither of us have ever had one. So we were intimidated I think.
I'll have to try it next time I go

100% and if you want reservations at Peche, I think it's best to start trying at least a week out. Hottest spot right now.

Whole fish with a few sides is never a bad idea. I've always made my reservations a few weeks out.

we ordered 12 different items. Mainly all small plates, appetizers, or sides.

I think this is the way to go at Peche. Especially the first time around. You get a get to try a major portion of the menu at a pretty great price. It's hard to beat Peche's value when ordering this way.

Did you need to cross a drawbridge to enter this weekend? They have that street torn to hell right now.

Ha. That street is pretty trashed right now. We actually were at Avenue Pub drinking a little before and decided to just walk from there.

Thanks for remembering the dessert. I think the Link group has one of the best pastry chefs in town right now. Her stuff is amazing.

Great review, bbrou

We went on a whim Friday night after FQF and scored some bar seats after about 10 mins...

Got the royal reds, crawfish bisque and shrimp & fontina croquetas...perfect end to the day after lots of samples at the fest.

One of my favorite new restaurants. We went a couple weeks ago and also had the shrimp toast but it didn't come with pickles like yours. Also agree about the bisque..it is outstanding! The only thing missing are stuffed crawfish heads.

Here's a picture of our whole speckled trout.

They need to bring back the crawfish gratinee they had when they first opened. That thing was nuts.

This is the top restaurant I'd like to try on my next visit to New Orleans. How many different oyster offerings does Peche have?

Depends on the day. Ranges from 1 to 4 that I've seen.
