So do they have Parish in Bham? Where?

I'm stopping by Western on my way home. They have the best wine and craft beer selection near my house. I asked the guy that runs that department about Parish a while back, and he said it was up to distributors but it was one he had an eye on.

It's surprising that there is so much variance. I guess that variance is just the downside, or maybe the beauty, of small breweries.

This isn't so much an issue of variance as it is an issue of scaling and changing production facilities/lines. You don't just multiply things and expect it to go off without a hitch, it takes proper scaling to replicate the original on a larger scale.

They will probably get it dialed in, and it sounds like the second batch is that. If not, they'll keep tinkering until it is. Ghost was very consistent all summer, and Envie (bottled) has been as well.

Very interesting. Makes complete sense once it is stated.

Tell me about the can/bottle thing. Is it an Envie thing, or batch thing (temporary) or is the purist still going to be able to tell the difference in bottles and cans in all beers?

Bottles are still made in house I think. Cans are sourced to Florida on the bigger production line.

Oh, think it got deleted. Shocker. It's okay, things have a tendency to show up again.

Ah so they deleted it, I gave them a negative review a few months ago that got deleted. Had nothing to do with owner but service and quality.

Been in Mississippi for awhile. Limited amounts of Nova, with fair amounts of Envie and Cranebrake, and another oddball that tastes like my kid's strawberry flavored cough syrup.

Seems like a bold strategy making something that is Craft and possibly outsourcing their product.

Toppling did this with PseudoSue for awhile. They outsourced to Brew Hub in Lakeland (FL) and just about every state, outside of Iowa, got this shite.

Over the last few months, Sue from Decorah (IA) has been finding its way on shelves in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Can't speak on other states, but Toppling received plenty of criticism from people on social media when it was being outsourced. Probably still is for some states.

Actually, I’m a Louisiana person transplanted to Houston.

But I’d have the same opinion regardless where I lived. Dallas needs to stop acting like such a little victim.

Yep. I bought some Envie (bottles) in Jackson a couple of weeks ago and was surprised to see it up there. The bottles had a February date.

Who acted like a victim? You brought Dallas up.

I only rolled my eyes at the idea of Texas distribution being limited to just Houston.
