You need to select new IRL people to associate with.

I'm sure you've read a lot. I'd focus on the Chinese. I can't vouch for the sushi, but I wouldn't waste my time. Spicy Cumin Pork and the Garlic Eggplant are a must.

+1

BTW, I went there for lunch recently and it looks like their business is picking up. There must have been about 20 people in there on a Friday, including us.

You will be in good shape then. I haven't had the Spicy Oil Fish, but the Spicy Oil Beef was really good.

This place is great, even for a fella that doesnt really dig Chinese food. I typically dont "do Chinese" because many entrees are sweet, and that is not a preference of mine. That said, periodically I enjoy it.

We ordered the 4 dishes to try some of them all....

Chong Qing Spicy Chicken was our favorite. They are small pieces of very well seasoned flash fried chicken with peppers .... Salty and spicy. 2 Thumbs Up

Spicy Cumin Pork
Number 2 was a tie, but since I prefer strong and bold flavors - I will list this one here. The seasoning for this pork dish was perfect. Nicely seared pieces of pork... Seared, yet not dry... The veggies included with the pork were equally as solid.

Eggplant with Garlic Sauce
This dish was very good. This board suggests ordering it everytime Omi is mentioned, so we ordered. The sauce is sweet, but not overwhelming. The eggplant pieces are prepared with crispy ends and creamy centers. Good dish. Would order again.

Spicy Oil Fish:
By far 4th place on the table. The waitress suggested it when we asked for a seafood dish. It was loaded with fish and veggies... is probably of good value... And was a good compliment to the strong flavors on our table - but it just didnt drive me to want to re-order. It was mildly seasoned, yet spicy if you ate the peppers. You could avoid alot of heat and sodium by eating the fish and veggies only. I liked, but will try another seafood dish next go.

Overall, the meal was great. I will 100% be going back, if I can find someone to go. Oldest son is in from Colorado, so we tried it today. Wife isnt interested.

2 Waters, 4 Entrees: $55 with tip... And he got leftovers.

Nice recap. I wish they did half-servings because we always have trouble deciding which of our favorites to order. I would eat my way around the menu, but when I go, I want to eat the Chong Qing chicken and cumin pork. Now that eggplant is on the regular rotation. Their dry fried string beans with pork is really good as well.

I wasn't a fan of the "Ants on a Log" as it was kinda boring and bland. The Spicy Oil Beef was good, but not good enough to be on the regular rotation. Dammit... now I want OMI again.

We probably eat or get takeout from there once or twice a month. Spicy cumin pork is my go-to at Omi. I had a great rib dish there once -- was it the House Ribs? It was like pork candy.
I do want to try that eggplant.

I've never liked eggplant. This is the first eggplant dish I really enjoy. It is better as a dine-in dish. When fresh, it has a very thin crispy shell and tender inside. If you take it to-go, it is all pretty mushy when you make it home. It still tastes great, but the texture is 65% of the experience.
