Pretty sure I have both the thickness problem and the batter not-sticking problem fixed. Catfish are much better now.
I was using bulgarian buttermilk and it just wasn't holding like a regular egg-wash mix with whole milk. I also figured out how to get the fillets thinner and tastier.

So you can cook anything out of your case(gulf fish mainly is what I'm interested in) and only be charged 10 bucks or whatever for the seafood box/poboy?
I might have to swing by and check this out next time I'm in BR.
Sorry, I seemed to have missed your post.
The gulf fish box or gulf fish poboy is usually a predetermined fish such as black drum, black snapper, cobia, etc. But I can assure you that it's good gulf fish. Some of the fish actually come out of the case that I cook. I can either fry, grill, or blacken the gulf fish.
But I can cook at no charge any fish in the case at the prices listed in the case. For example, if you were interested in grouper at $14.99/lb, I would cook the fillet at $14.99/lb. If the fillet was 8oz, than the total would be $7.50. Hope that makes sense.

Are they PEI mussels??? WOOT! I'm looking for someone reliable to carry these.
I've bought them at Albertson's once >gulp< and I had to throw them away. I should have known better when the monger began sealing them up in plastic. I had to inform him that they come in netting for a reason and need to breathe. He looked at me with a deer-in-headlights expression on his face.

Picked up a shrimp and catfish poboy along with some chicken tenders for my son yesterday. Pulled the poboys out on the table and he remarked "Holy C-rap those are poboys?"
I couldn't eat both, after eating half of each I ended up eating the shrimp and catfish off the bread. Someone earlier said they weren't seasoned enough but I liked them and my son kept picking them off my plate. The fried shrimp reminded me of my grandmothers.
The wife was out with our daughter and missed out. We'll be back.

Yes they are and I am getting them from a reliable source. Mussels are tough to keep alive. The most you get on them (shelflife wise) is probably 3-5 days. Ours should be good through the whole weekend. I can get them 6 days a week also.

Are you talking about the shrimp salad or the salad that came in the seafood box?

Doesn't everyone?
Unless I'm at Jay's BBQ, then it's three. Beef, Turkey and Hot Sausage.
How's the roast beef? Or do I need to stick to seafood items?

Roast Beef is one of my favorites if not my favorite. It's actual sliced roast that is slow cooked in a croc pot with gravy.

Sounds good, I'll try one next time. Was that you behind the counter about 6:20 yesterday evening? I'll have to introduce myself next time.
BTW the lady that answered the phone and took my order was very helpful.

It probably was me yesterday evening. I've actually met quite a few tigerdroppings readers. We have some long time employees helping with the deli and counter plus I have some family helping out also, so hopefully customers will find them helpful.
