Anyone ever use this stuff? How is it?
I have some left over chicken and sausage and was thinking of making a gumbo, since we had Jambalaya yesterday.
Any other one dish ideas to do with chicken and sausage? We are tired of pasta.

I've used it everytime I've made gumbo. I like the flavor it lends and I've never had complaints from friends and family. Let me know how you like it.

I have used their Jambalaya mix for years when going to the hunting or fishing camp when I know I don't have time to do a good roux justice, and think it is the best out there. Guessing their gumbo base would be good too.

It is the best gumbo base on the shelves, IMO FWIW

It was the best gumbo bases I have ever tried. I was skeptical because I could not see spices to the eye, but It had a great flavor. Will use it again.
Made it per the directions and then put in the crockpot to keep warm.

OK, forgive my ignorance, but what is a gumbo base? is it more than a roux? it has spices?

It is a dry roux with the spices in it, all you do is add the water or stock & meat (I used chicken stock).

Not quite as good as Crawfish Man's, but pretty good (as far as mixes go).
