Will be there Dec 13-17. Staying in the Bowery area. Any recs for lunch and dinner would be great. Looking for the good stuff!

Downtown NY has unlimited opportunities for food, so I'll post a few..
On Allen Street in the Bowery, is Cheese Grille.
It's a grilled cheese specialty shop with craft beer. It's a bit off the wall, but fun for lunch.
The Bowery is near Chinatown and you'll want to check that out.. Joe's Shanghai has my favorite dumpling. Joe's
Balthazar for breakfast.. they're open late as well.
Yonah Shimmel has the best bagels and knishes in Manhattan. If you haven't had a knish, they're great.
Lafayette is like Balthazar.. a bakery and French bistro. It's a very cool place for dessert.
Momofuku Noodle Bar is great for Ramen.. also downtown
You'll want to check out Bleecker Street which is the street that runs behind NYU and connects the East Village to the West Village. This is a great area to explore and find places you like.
Death and Company is a craft cocktail lounge in the Bowery.. if you want a nearby bar to checkout.
Dean and Deluca is a high end grocery/deli and they have prepared foods and coffee. Fun place to look around and grab a sandwich. Dean and Deluca is on Prince and Broadway.
The Spotted Pig is an Englo-Gastro pub in the West Village with hamburgers and a laid back English-American sports bar vibe. I love this place and my favorite dish is the gnuddi, which is goat's milk ricotta dumplings.
Eataly is on 5th Avenue between 23rd and 24th Street. It's an Italian food court that is pretty overwhelming and you'll need a few hours to fully enjoy. It's got everything Italian from the most simple to the exotic.. and you will leave full and happy.
If you want an Asian place that's very hip and trendy and you don't mind kinda dressing up, TAO Downtown is a great place to see and be seen.. and the Satay of Chilean Sea Bass is my favorite here.. but there are many good dishes here.
Katz's Deli will be near the Bowery, on Houston and Ludlow. Very famous deli with the best Reuben in the city.

I really like Gemma for breakfast and Cafe Habana for lunch. Balthazar great but always a zoo. Heard good things about the Egg Shop but I never went. Stop by Little Cupcake in Nolita for dessert.
