I used to joke that Hannibal Lecter was the first foodie. I'm sure the popularity of those movies probably did have some impact on the culinary landscape.
Any other people in media who may have unintentionally had some influence on the food culture in the U.S.?

Hoss Cartwright. Hoss loved to have Hop Sing whip up some steak and eggs for breakfast. My papaw loved Hoss Cartwright and oft time requested my grandmother make him/us steak and eggs for breakfast. To this day I love steak and eggs for breakfast. Thanks you, Hoss Cartwright.
