Boucharie is close to YOCI, and very good. It’s basically LPG and YOCI combined. Southern French, or whatever. Look at the reviews, place is killer. Next door is their BBQ place, Bouree, it’s great too.

Peche-I've loved everything I've ever had there except the shrimp roll which I found to have a little too much mayo. The whole fish is always great and it's fun to get for the table along with other things. Any fish special dish is good. I love the spicy ground shrimp pasta small plate and sometimes will get that (it's not really that small) with a cup of gumbo and the hushpuppies or fried bread and maybe smoked tuna dip for the table. The crab claw preps are really good. Soups of the day have all been good. It will be hard to go wrong there.

Brigtsen's- I have a hard time not getting the Shell Beach Diet plate when I'm there. It's a lot of food and I can never finish it, but it's like an appetizer plate with lots of good things to taste and he changes it up seasonally. Last time I was there, I got a fish special, but got some of the sides from the Shell Beach Diet plate, also. I love the shrimp/crawfish cornbread and anything he does with the oysters or scallops. If he's serving soft shell crab, get it! It goes quickly, though. He was serving it a few days ago. BBQ shrimp app is delicious with the shrimp calas. Hard to pass up, but so is the fried catfish, the shrimp remoulade and so on. The pecan pie is outstanding, but so is any form of his creme brulee. That pie, though!

Ye Olde College Inn-Another place which has been serving a soft shell crab special this week. Favorite apps are the bbq shrimp, crab marne, oysters bleu and shrimp remoulade. For entrees, my preferences are Today's Fresh Catch and shrimp and grits. However, I've tasted other entrees which was very good, as well. This restaurant also changes things up seasonally. I'm a sucker for the fried bread pudding poboy for dessert.

LPG-I was last there for lunch and we ordered a lot of apps. There was a saffron lobster bisque that was outstanding. We had a scallop app special that also excellent with the braised delicious short rib in addition to the crabmeat beignets. I don't think you can go wrong here, either.

Last night we had dinner at aye Olde College In . We had a crawfish gumbo and crawfish Mac n cheese specials. Both were outstanding. For dinner we split a crab stuffed fish - didn’t catch the species. It was also perfect. Service was also great. Overall it was a great experience.

Thanks for reporting back. My meals there have been very good. I think folks overlook it. I enjoy the atmosphere and that it’s very much a locals place with a neighborhood vibe.

Last two dinners were Brigsten's and Peche. At Brigsten's we were lucky and got a soft shell crab and also had a Shell Beach Diet. We had the pecan pie for dessert. It was a fantastic meal, only made better by the pot smoke filled uber we took that died on I-10.

At Peche we just split some apps. It was very good, but not as memorable as the other two.

Thanks for all the recs. It really made our trip that much better.

Sounds like overall successful dining experiences minus the Uber debacle. I bet that soft shell crab was good! Glad you enjoyed your meals. Thanks again for reporting back. I'd been watching for your report.
