I just got back from the quarter from an afternoon stroll. It’s as dead as dead can be. There is no pulse. Restaurants are boarded up all over. I made sure to buy drinks at the two I found open. But I had to put them in my coffee cup bc our genius fricking mayor said I can’t get “to go” drinks.

I’m tired of this shite. Our people need work. Our bellies need food. frick John Bel and Latoya.

Open the restaurants and bars now!!!!

It’s our only industry.

People are dying.

This isn’t the city I grew up in.

I refuse to abide by these made up mandates anymore. Arrest me.

This is our moment to have sit ins.

Any owner on here willing to ride, I’m willing to go to jail. I’ve had enough.

Are restaurants not open at all in Nola?

That’s crazy.

Being away from Nola for 30 years , And a frequent visitor to family and fun in the quarter,it’s part of my daily routine to look at the earth cam, French quarter cam… Since the Rona it looks like a deserted movie set… Very sad open that bitch up

Friend,

You are posting a summary interpretation from a CHIROPRACTOR. These loons have less than a community college education. Shameful that they would dare comment on public health matters, and even more shameful that they consider themselves doctors.

She thinks that less than 6% of patients with Covid died of Covid because the vast majority of those had other conditions like acute respiratory distress syndrome and pneumonia, which are not comorbidities but rather an advanced outcome of the virus. She is a moron. These other conditions are caused by Covid-19 and are usually what end up killing the sickest of Covid-19 patients. It does not mean that they did not die of Covid-19. And if you want to focus on comorbidities, most American adults have at least one comorbidity. 43% of Americans are obese. I would imagine if you sampled from this forum, composed of an audience in one of the most obese of states, that number is even higher. Does that mean that if, God forbid, you get covid-19 and die from it, it "does not really count" because you had a comorbidity?

It's one thing to say that there are too rigid of restrictions to public life right now. One can do that even while acknowledging the seriousness of the disease caused by the coronavirus. To spread conspiracy theories that covid-19 is not a serious disease, however, does great harm to the truth. See the below reasonable response of Legion of Doom for a nuanced and reasonable interpretation of our current state.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

This. It’s time we more away from this “phase x” mindset and accept the fact that this virus is here and we need to learn to live with it. The first wave was overwhelming. This second wave saw a lot of cases but they were much more manageable than the first wave. Hospitals aren’t overrun.
It’s unconscionable that politicians are ruining people financially and emotionally over this. It’s time to open it up Arse, and let the people decide for themselves.

OP didn’t say it wasn’t serious.

Small businesses are getting crushed because of “feel good” decisions. If the virus is that serious then close walmarts, lowes, etc.

Tried to do dine-in in Bywater last night and got rejected from 3 places due to being takeout only or covid restrictions limiting patrons. Ended up having to order at the window at The Joint. I'm over the idiocy. The loopholes allowing bars to become restaurants while actual bar owners hemorrhage money is what's most infuriating.

Friend,

A person who dies of ARDS or pneumonia and has Covid-19 and does not have any other typeable viral or bacterial infection almost certainly died of Covid-19. This forum is not the place for being obtuse.
