Why's it their responsibility to thwart such things?

It's a lovely thought, but the influence of money is so pervasive that you can't really get elected and stay in office without tons of fund-raising, which comes from these lobbyists, who demand that you vote a certain way. You just can't get in or stay in without co-opting yourself. And that is unlikely to change.

Proof Louisiana, it's laws, and it's citizens are ate up with stupid at an alarming rate. Nothing will ever change here.

Meh, lots of changes have happened to make our state more alcohol establishment friendly. It's just been slow and way behind so many other places

Yeah, I stop in Corvallis which is out of the way heading south (You know that and shows my interest in anything Salem ) or Eugene. I never take 22 to Bend, I always go 26 over Hood so I don't make it there often so I'm sure as hell not wasting my stops on Salem.
