New stove or fix the old one?

I've got an old GE stove(all-electric) in the house, 15-16 years old. The cook-top still works fine, but the control panel for the oven died last week.
Should I spend the $1200-1500 for a whole new setup or just the $200-300 for a repair? Will a repaired one last long enough to justify the repair bill? I've never had to repair and/or replace one.
Option 3: Buy a re-furb from the Sears outlet in Lafayette. Anyone had any experience with these?
ETA: Money is not a priority, but I hate wasting it on anything other than booze, blow, and strippers.

If you are doing blow you have no reason for a stove. Just keep grinding that jaw and peeking through the mini blinds.
And strippers don't cook either so I say buy a $30 microwave. You can use it to heat your spoon.

I have a shotgun, and I can be at your house to take care of this so called stove if you provide the address. If you replace this sid stove with another all electric I will be back.

A few years ago, my electric stove broke like your. I updated my entire kitchen (with gas) and never looked back.

Don't have a choice. No gas lines in my neighborhood.

Move, or get a large LP tank installed in the back yard, or even go with wood.

Move
Considered it, but I really like my neighbors and don't want to take the chance of ending up with douchebags next door.

Also considered, but it's against homeowner's assn rules.

I have a jenn-air cooktop and a burner switch went out after after 30+ years. I like it so much I spent $250 and replaced all the switches and most of the wiring. Replaced the down draft fan motor a few years ago also.
If you like it enough spend the repair dough. If not, upgrade to something better.

What neighborhood do you live in that doesn't have gas run to it?
