I'm always pumping up Elijah Craig on here. You will enjoy that one.
I tried it tonight. I used a Glencairn glass for the tasting.
Nose: Sweet and flowery (most like honeysuckle)
Taste: Nice and viscous feeling. Sweet hints of sweet corn, honey and butter notes
Finish: Very woody and kind of leathery. Caramel also comes through.
Overall, a nice and fairly complex bourbon for the price and would recommend it.

Let us know about the other ones when you give them a try.

I've had the Black Maple Hill and it is excellent
This is a fine bourbon for the price. It's about $36 here. Nice, sweet and smooth and that maple finish is great.

In this price range I like Blanton's the best.
Blanton's and Jefferson's Reserve are two of my favorites especially at the $45-$50 range.

I found Eagle Rare to be a good value bourbon.
Again, spot on. This is one of the best values to be had. Eagle Rare is my go to everyday sipping bourbon. Also try the Elmer T Lee in that price range. It's about $28 here and tastes like it's in the upper $30 or low $40 range.

Oh yes, this is my kind of finish.
This is how I have described Rowan's Creek ($34) to others. It doesn't smack you in the face like a rye. Sort of chewy at the end.
Based on your review alone, I will try this bourbon.

I had the 12 yr Elijah Craig. It was ok. I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Had this on New Years Eve it was very good

One that I have tried over the holidays is "Johnny Drum Private Reserve". It has a good spicy but sweet taste. Just be warned that it is a 101 proof bourbon but very good.

I've got a friend who works for Heaven Hill and I got turned on to Elijah Craig a few months ago. The 12 is a great buy for the price, the 18 is superb...

has anyone ever tried Jefferson's? Did a search and found nothing. I saw some at Martin's and was thinking about buying some in honor of JJ and his awesomeness for the NC

Which one? They have regular Jefferson's (pretty good and lower price), Jefferson's Reserve (great bourbon, good complexity, great for the price $44-$50) and Jefferson's Presidential Select (haven't had it yet, but heard great things about it, fetching $80-$100)

One of my favorites. Nice find.
It's been fairly hard to find around here. I had run out and had been searching the local liquor stores for a few months. Several hadn't heard of it, others had "orders in, but not received". Luckily the owner at the place I found it had recently had it recommended to him and he's become a huge fan so he said he would do what it takes to make sure he keeps it in stock. Likely will be featured at an upcoming bourbon tasting he is probably having so it may gain some more popularity which I'm not a huge fan of

I got it on a recommendation as well. Social media and the internet have done wonders for whiskey. I'm learning about a bunch of new ones that I'd like to try and there are several sites for tasting reviews where you can read or post reviews. Although one of the downsides is too many people find out about the great, rare ones and buy up the stock. Pappy Van Winkle is a great example. It has been difficult to find for quite some time, but now that a lot of people know the name, you pretty much have to know someone or have a lot of $$ to acquire it.

Review of the Elmer T Lee. I had previously had a bottle of this before I got into tasting with the Glencairn glasses and always just drank this with ice. It was a great bourbon then so I was excited to do an official tasting of it.
Nose: Hint of strawberry, orange, somewhat floral
Taste: Moderate viscosity, nice sweet notes (think vanilla and caramel, medium spice (cinnamon like)
Finish: Nice bit of spiciness at the beginning then leads to slight sweetness with caramel and mild oakiness
Overall, a well balance single barrel bourbon that lived up to my memories. Officially replaces my favorite bourbon under $30 (bumps Eagle Rare from the top spot). Enjoy

Just for fun, I did an official tasting of the Apple Pie Moonshine. I've had it a couple times before and it's definitely not anything complex, but it sure is good.
Nose: Obviously lots of cinnamon and a couple hints of vanilla
Taste: Cinnamon, sugar, very mild bite at room temperature. Still get those subtle vanilla/caramel like flavors
Finish: Almost nonexistent (to be expected) but a nice little bit of spice
If you try this at different temperatures, you get varying levels of the alcohol. If you have it at room temperature, there is a mild bite. If you chill it, the alcohol bit seems to come through a bit more. Now, if you heat it up like warm apple cider, you have a difficult time even tasting the alcohol. I think I finally have a warm alcoholic drink that I could enjoy (other than Irish coffee). Anyway, give it a shot if you're into this kind of thing.

Elijah 18 is fantastic. My regular choice. You should like it!

Last review of the new batch: Black Maple Hill. This is another one that I've had before but never officially tasted out of the Glencairn glass. It's a nice sweet bourbon that's very enjoyable over a couple cubes of ice on any day.
Nose: Tanginess, forward corny notes, cocunut, maple syrup, honey
Taste: Much like it smells, tangy and corny, honey and maple flavors and black cherry flavorsour then it becomes a little spicier and woody
Finish: Moderate length, maple syrup, smokey oak
Another fine specimen.

Is that a good thing or bad thing in your mind? Not sure if you're trying to take Buffalo Trace down a notch or give them a compliment.
