Gonna be there for a conference this weekend. Staying at the Westin. Wife's bday is tomorrow so looking for something nice in that area for dinner one night. She's not a very adventurous eater so the basics would be best, i.e. steakhouses, Italian, etc.

Perry's. Taste of Texas is overrated and not that nice. They don't take reservations and way too many small children running buck wild and comes off as an expensive but mediocre restaurant.

And to the suggestion of Pappadeaux's, GTFO.

Vallone's is immediately next door to the Westin. It's right up there with the very best steakhouses in town. They serve the best fried softshell crabs (off menu) you'll ever eat. Tony's meatballs are second to none. Excellent wine list and plenty of bourbons.

this. you are right by a ton of places immediately next to the Westin.

Is Ogden Pour Society open? Several beers and good food.. Supposedly.

Also, you are near City Center. Steak places, seafood (McCormick& Schmick). Also, Yard House. Another place with a ton of beers and good food. One more exit west and you are at a Brenners Steakhouse..

Pour Society is now State of Grace and most definitely worth your time. If you want sushi Kuu next door is the way to go. Tons of great options right next door to that Westin. CityCentre is great for Eddie V's, Cyclone Anaya with the frozen drink sippers, and Flemings. If you want something truly unique head to Le Mistral on Eldridge. Ask for Jonathan. Wonderfully prepared French cuisine.
