Anybody have one for their Kicthen Aid? Any advice on using them? I want one with a large tray up top with a decent capacity.

I won't be doing a ton of work with it, but when I do, I want to make some big batches of boudin, creole hot sausage, Italian sausage, etc. and stuff them into links. I don't want to be constantly stopping to add more to the tray, yet I won't be doing this often enough to justify buying a sausage stuffer (yet).

Just don’t back into the meat grinder or you’ll get behind on your work.

I have one for my wife's kitchen aid. It takes a long time if you're doing big batches. I usually just use it when I get a cheap roast and grind for burgers. For large batches you want something that grinds quick so the temp of the meat stays low and you don't have to worry as much about fat rendering. I just ordered a 1 hp weston after using a buddies, it's a game changer. I process 5 or 6 deer and 10 or 15 hogs a year so this should really speed up the process. I'll spend more time cleaning the grinder than actually grinding the meat.

Coming from someone who had one, don't do it. It's a waste of time/money compared to a stand alone grinder.

If you make even one “big batch,” buying a standalone grinder and stuffer is worth every penny compared to attempting it with a kitchenaid attachment. With that being said, I have this one from when I wanted something when I first got my mixer. Its made very well.

I got the LEM Mighty Bite #8 grinder. It works great. I can grind a 15 pound brisket in about three minutes. Next thing I want to add is the 5 pound LEM sausage stuffer.

Define big batch.

If you are only grinding 25 pounds occasionally then the kitchenaid will work. Any more than that or if you use it very often step up to a 1HP or larger.

Buy dedicated stuffer, the kitchenaid attachement almost made me give up on sausage. Once I bought a dedicated stuffer it actually became fun.
