Take ur kido to Joe T Garcia’s. Not for the food, for the experience.

Most tourists go to Joe T Garcias but I’ve never been crazy about that place. It’s average IMO and not much of a menu

i much prefer Enchiladas Ole, and if you go out to the Stockyards area, Los Asaderos and Nuevo León

We’re downtown but are mobil. I would prefer the place with the best food. If I tell them about this Joe Garcias kid friendly experience they are going to jump on it

Luna Azel is downtown and really good

Go check out Reata. It’s 3 stories and has a cool rooftop deck with music and food and drinks. Good lunch spot with the kids

My kids loved the children’s museum also out by the Kimbell art museum

From what I just read people stand outside and line up to eat there like it’s Franklin bbq. Is that really the case? Its already 130deg here.

I like Yucatán Taco Stand, but it’s tacos. Asaderos is good......

Heard Mesero in Clearfork was really good. Had some friends go last night, actually. New place, kinda higher end - said the margaritas were great, too.

Yea, it’s a cult following but the food isn’t great. Something to say u did. Place is enormous.

Reata is serviceable w good atmosphere.

One of my buddies swears by the beef fajitas at Asaderos (assume that’s the Los Asaderos that dallasriger recommended).

If you are up for a drive - look up Mesero.

I can’t speak to the other rec he made.

Those give u something to pick from ....

It’s a local chain. Decent but not really worth going.

I second the Reata suggestion if you want a perfect Texan meal.

You’ve said this on 2 boards now. No it isn’t.

If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it. I take it you didn’t grow up in a household that practiced this.

DFW has amazing local Mexican places all over the metroplex and abuelos is a subpar chain.

You’d have been more correct to place a period after “ aweful”.

And Paul, up yours.

Yeah don’t go to Abuelos

I like Mesa Maya which is close to where you’re going.
