Not impressed with Martins bbq, at least what I had. I got the whole hog plate - very little smoke flavor. I did much better on my KJ.

I just got back from my Nashville trip, so I'll post a quick review of everywhere we ate:

1. Hattie B's - I really enjoyed the hot chicken, and we only had to wait in line for 10 minutes or so. I know there's debate about which place does hot chicken the best, but Hattie B's was the only place I got some, so all I can say is that it was very tasty.

2. Marche - Great breakfast spot. Food was delicious and their coffee was strong.

3. Butcher & Bee - Really great place for dinner. We actually kind of stumbled on it, but enjoyed the hell out of it. Prior to dinner there, we grabbed cocktails at No. 308 down the street, and I would highly recommend checking that place out as well.

4. Peg Leg Porker - Again, there's debate on which BBQ place is best, but this is the only one we went to, and I would recommend it.

5. Husk - This was meant to be our nicest meal of the trip. I left extremely disappointed. The space is great, but the food was slightly above average at best, and is no where near worth the money. I don't get the hype for it.

6. Biscuit Love - We weren't able to go here, so I can't attest to the food, I'm just warning that if you go, make sure you prepare. The line was really long so we said screw it.

We also hit up a few breweries/had some local beers:

1. Yazoo - Meh.
2. Tennessee Brew Works - Not bad.
3. Southern Grist - Highly recommend.
4. Bearded Iris - Didn't make it to the brewery, but had a few different beers from them around town and really enjoyed each one.

Finally, we did a tour and tasting at Nelson's Green Brier Distillery. The tour was actually extremely interesting and I enjoyed their products. Bought a bottle to bring home.

Overall, I was really impressed with Nashville as a city. Would love to take another trip back in the future.

Loveless for southern cooking. Great fried chicken and sides.

Arnold’s. Not a brewery, but hands down best food in town. The line out of the door every day should tell you all that you need to know.

Funny that you say that. I've been three times. The first time was very good, the second time was meh, and the third time just really wasn't that good at all.
