Nothing like a good gumbo thread to stir up the F&D board

1. Get rid of the okra.
2. Gumbo is a bit too thick.
3. Should have browned the chicken longer.

I don't like my gumbo as thin as chicken noodle soup. I don't want it as thick as beef stew either.

Thats perfectly fine. But to deny that a Gumbo isnt a soup is ludicrous.

You ever had crawfish potato soup? That's thicker than chicken noodle soup, but it's still a soup.
Eta: It's thicker than gumbo, as well.

so according to your logic, all hamburgers must have mayo on them right? Originally Mayo was put on hamburgers, not for taste but to prevent the bun from getting soggy from the meat juices.

i have no idea if you like mayo or not.... that just where the origins on mayo on a burger started.
