I'd look for a Barbera d'Alba, Barbera d'Asti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or a straight up Nebbiolo Langhe if I were looking for Italian wines in this price range. Tons of great choices.

Yes! I am a fan of this annual list. I usually try to go down the list through the year. Thank you!

2015 Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon

Love this wine, and can often find it as low as $7.99. Also love the red blend they put out.

Nice list. Generally speaking there is good value in zinfandels. You can get a world class zin for $20. World class pinots and cabs are just nowhere to be found at that price point.

Best Zin I’ve tasted is Rombauer. It costs around $30 a bottle.

Rombauer

This zin is almost like a port. In fact Rombauer makes a port. We open a bottle every year at Christmas with desert.

Will definitely pick up those California sauvignon blancs for my gf. She's always looking to try new shite. Won't drink New Zealand though. For whatever reason she says all New Zealand white wines smell like cat piss
