Every West Coast oyster I’ve ever eaten was a disappointment.

Thanks. I checked out their website earlier and didn’t see a ship option. I will look for bon secour fisheries. Nothing I love more than taste testing a few dozen

I give a slight edge to true cold water oysters on the east and west coasts, but murder points are significantly better than our standard "gulf oysters", in my opinion.

There’s a consistency on the East and West Coasts that the Gulf Coast oysters don’t always have, but this time of year, a good Gulf Coast oyster is the best. There’s a better depth to the flavor than straight brine.

That’s the absolute truth. This is the best time of year because the oysters are fattening up. You will get salty brine, butter(think marbled ribeye fat) and then the cucumber, green onion, chive flavors.

Bon secour fisheries has a ship option online. I was looking at it yesterday. They usually do 2 day grounds shipping with frozen gel packs.

Yes you are right. I see it now. I would call and go through Bon Secour retail directly like Otis said. The ladies that work there are super nice and great to work with. They sent 100 oysters to Vegas last week for me.

LINK

The power of TD. Thanks gentlemen for letting me chew on some fat this morning. I’ve been sending people to a blind link. XO was great during Covid but it’s slowed way down. Directly through the wholesaler is best prices.

Dang, no shipping option on the clover link. I'll try reaching out via phone next time I order. I want to try the Navy Cove's out.

Call them! They started selling seafood in 1895 and sometimes I feel like they are still decades behind the current times.

I called them. Talked to Mrs. Becky who is a very kind soul. You need to get orders in Mon, Tues or Wed by noon for her to feel confident about getting them to you by Friday. I didn't get mine in in time so she is going to process my order next Monday and hopefully have them to me on Wednesday. I ordered (100) Navy Cove, which costs $80 ( a very fair price imo). On Monday she will weigh my order, let me know what the shipping costs are, and verify I still want them before charging my card.

Awesome- thanks for being the guinea pig.

I wonder what their turnaround is. I think Murder Point has set harvest days, so you know you're getting a really fresh oyster. They ship next day air, so your oyster goes from water to doorstep in 24 hours.

I'm sure Navy Cove/Bon Secour is similar

Make sure you update us on the flavor when they come in- and post some pics if you feel so inclined!

Thanks balls. I just dropped off 4K oysters to Bon Secour 15 minutes ago. You should be getting these. We may harvest again tomorrow but the ones today will be some salty bastards. Mrs Becky mentioned a nice fellow had called in for an order to be shipped.
