Crawfords is great. Their catfish is some of the best thinned fried around and the chicken fried steak is usually my pick if I'm there for lunch.

Where is this Crawford's?

At crawfords you are eating Vietnamese basa not catfish. They have been doing this for years. Next time you're in there ask them.

The Fairway Club was full of heavy hitters on a regular basis.

If they truly are serving basa, I will NEVER, EVER go there. There is absolutely no excuse for a Louisiana restaurant to be serving basa. That shite is disgusting

Except for cost and consistency. Other than that, no reason.
And it is obviously good enough for the people eating it.

well, Basa is technically catfish. I cant even tell the difference TBH.

I hate to tell you but a lot of places serve that now. the ag dept. made ivar's stop advertising fried catfish. It's their lunch special today. If you ride by you'll see the sign by the door say's fried fish not catfish. The only place I know for sure serving catfish is the stockyard. I was in there one day and they were delivering boxes of catfish. The owner made everyone look at the boxes. He was going on and on that he was one of the few restaurants still selling american catfish, and how much more expensive it was than basa.

This. They aren't lying by saying "fried catfish" if they are serving Basa.
