Think they sold the year after I graduated, so 2011.

I guess it's been that long since I've eaten there.

I'll say Ruffino's as well. Maybe just not my cup of tea, but I wasn't all that impressed.
I've had some awesome meals at Ruffino's, but my last 2 visits the food has been very underwhelming. It's still a great atmosphere there though.
I don't think The Chimes is overrated, and if you suggest Chimes to an out of towner, they'll get some good food at a good price in a normally pretty good atmosphere.
Mason's Grill is a place that gets a lot of love on here, and I think the majority of their menu items are total crap. That, along with Mason's being a completely unclean nasty dump inside.
I used to like TJ Ribs, but something seems to have changed there over the last couple of years with their food quality & service. I doubt that I'll go back anytime soon.

Yes, as in pitifully bad. I've had better meals at Outback.
Outback is better than Flemings huh? Why did I waste 6 minutes reading this thread. Lord.

Wow, he actually said that! Outback has gone downhill so bad the past few years that they're probably on par with Applebee's now. That's just a guess though, as I haven't been to an Applebee's in at least 5 years, so Applebee's may be better. Outback is horrible.

Said both meals at Flemings were "pitifully" bad. Either he has never set foot in Flemings, a good probability, or got sticker shock. And if the latter well, stick to Outback.

Outback was never special but was good for a quick, cheap meal when in a pinch. I'll go out of my way to avoid it now, though.

Outback used to be really solid. I am talking about late 90's. Their house salad was really good and it was an all around solid mid level meal. Now, not so much. To compare Fleming's to outback is an idiotic statement.
BTW, I am going to the overrated Ruth's Chris tonight. I hope the butter doesn't sear my tongue.

I second this

Agree about Ruffinos. Our last visit we just kinda left looking at each other like meh that was okay.
I got the rib eye. Nothing too special and the potatoes were terrible.
Eggplant Parmesan was decent and the only plus was the size of it.
The price of the pork chop dish was funny. $30 for one pork chop. $40 for two. Buddy of mine said that price has increased over the years to that.
The fish and pasta dishes have reasonable prices.
Great atmosphere still.
I hope the Sinatra doesn't come in here giving out his number to us

Please don't twist my words around. I didn't say that Outback was better than Flemings. What I said is that I've had better meals at Outback than the two I had at Flemings.
The first time we went was on the day that LSU played Tennessee a couple years ago, where they ended up giving LSU an extra play at the end if the game and they won. Well, during that entire dramatic ordeal, all of the Flemings staff gathered around the TV, instead of preparing our food. Our items came out in the wrong order, some overcooked... one giant clusterfrick. The GM apologized and gave me a certificate to use on a future visit. He told me to let them know when we were coming... But I didn't. I didn't want "special" treatment just because they knew I was coming; in my opinion the service should be on-point all the time. Well, sure enough when we went back one of our items never came out. This time the manager blamed it on the server being new, and guess what, he offered us another gift certificate and said he hoped we'd give them another chance. He was surprised when I pulled out the first certificate and said, "Sorry, this was the 2nd chance." I stick to my guns -- it sucked and I won't be back.

restaurant is overrated
to me a restaurant that is considered overrated doesn't mean it is bad. I just think or wonder why all of the hype.

You went toeat during an lsu game and got shitty service?

Any restaurant I like is appropriately rated.

I would be pissed off. And I would show it with a zero tip. I would show it by telling anyone with ears about the shite service that I received so they could avoid the same treatment.
Posted on 5/24/14 at 11:31 am to Deactived
An LSU game is not an excuse. If it was going to be a problem, they shouldn't have been open during the game.
Posted on 5/24/14 at 12:01 pm to xTHUNDERBOLTx
Its not an excuse but I would be wary of going to a BR restaurant during an lsu game, especially with a wait staff of twenty something year olds.
Langland, you're a joke

Yep, Ruffino's is just meh!
I do think it's a nice looking restaurant though, so I'll give them that.

Dear lord I'm glad I don't dine with you and thunderboy. I bet y'all beat up drive through Shaniqualas if they don't offer ketchup packs.
And yes...Shaniqualas is correct spelling.
