I will be attending a Monday morning event in the French Quarter in a couple of weeks and am looking for a nice place to have lunch. Galatoire's is closed on Monday. Antoine's is re-opening, but not on Monday. Same with Brennan's. R'evolution is not open yet. I am coming up empty. Any ideas? Thanks.

Felix's? Hoover down some raw O's right at the bar.

Or Deanie's for the fried seafood.

Felix's?

It recently reopened and the website shows it's open Mondays at 11 am.

I like Felix's but we will be dressed up and were looking for something a little more upscale. The pickings look slim in the quarter. What about elsewhere in the city on Monday?

This is usually the opposite of what we hear. Normally it's, "Do I need a jacket or can I wear my camo shorts and a T-shirt?"

We were in the Quarter today. Most places were closed for Monday lunch. I would say that the Bourbon House was probably the best restaurant we saw open. We almost went there, but wound up at Maspero's. It was actually nice in there. It was a beautiful day and they had all the windows and French doors open.

Was the food any good? My last two visits there have been subpar at best!

It was okay for what it is. The deli sandwiches looked good, but I had an omelet from the breakfast menu. The food would have been better at the Bourbon House, but the atmosphere was nice in there on a beautiful day with all the doors and windows open.
