Mini BBQ run & new smoker
Drove to Austin on Sunday and went to Burnt Bean Co. in Seguin. Really enjoyed the food, but the restaurant vibe and atmosphere was really cool as well. Would definitely recommend.

Today made a stop I have been wanting to make at C-M Smokehouse in Bouldin Acres. Finally got to try the infamous brisket Crunchwrap, and it did not disappoint. Also got some pork crispito tacos and wings which i really enjoyed. The setup is really cool with the pickle ball courts, dog park, and beer garden (i don’t drink).

Lastly went to pick up the new smoker tonight instead of tomorrow to try and beat the storm home. We lost our son in 2020 and buried him on the day we were supposed to bring him home from the hospital. I decided this smoker we would be a memorial to him and painted in the color of the baby blanket he was supposed to come home in. I also picked the name, but other than that Ryan had creative free reign on other paint schemes and designs how he saw fit. Couldn’t be happier with the finished product. It’s hard to see in the shop lighting but I had to snap a few pics while I could, should be a light sea foam pastel green. Actually sitting in the truck posting this while he finishes the cooking grates. Couldn’t ask for a better builder.

I never thought I would tear up in a thread about smokers.

That’s an amazing looking smoker. When are we breaking it in?

Appreciate the thoughts, definitely one of those things you never think will happen to you.

I’ve got a couple racks of wagyu beef ribs in the freezer I’ve been saving and an Akaushi brisket for this special occasion this weekend!

That thing is so fine I would never want to smoke on it for fear of dirtying it.

How much did that smoker cost you?

Glad you had a good trip. Very sorry for your loss.

A little over 9k. Pay for details. I asked about steel prices while I was talking to him, his material pipe cost for his backyard smokers has went up a little over 300%.

Thanks. That's a damn fine looking smoker. I've seen his other stuff on Facebook and it looks great as well.

I'm very sorry for your loss. My wife and I had triplets and they spent 5-6 weeks in the neonatal ICU. We had several close calls, but they all pulled through. I can only imagine what you must be going through, to this day. That is an awesome tribute.

Two girls and one boy. They are 22 now, so our work is almost done.

ruger, first off I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. That is very tough to get over.

Didn't you already have a custom built unicorn smoker a year or so ago? That thing was beautiful and was everything I could ever want in a smoker. I figured that would have been everything you would ever need.

This one is on par. Just simply gorgeous. You must be a professional Q master with such toys.

I did. When I got that one I wanted a 250 but talked myself out of it, and ended up spending the same amount once I added the Santa Maria to the build list. Only cooked on it a couple of times and realized I really wanted the 250. Actually sold it to a guy from California of all places.
