Ola at the sanctuary
Juvia
Meat market

Avoid the lobby bathroom at the Delano on South Beach. Although beautiful, I shite my pants and left my dirty boxers there in the stall. I can't be certain it was cleaned.

I really like Larios on the Beach, and Bazaar.

Go to Bazaar. Or Bazaar Mar, both Jose Andres' places.

I’ve had very good meals at La Mar (Mandarin Oriental) and Il Gabbiano.

Miami has in large part replicated a subset of the Manhattan dining scene, and that's not a bad thing. The Bazar by Jose Andres is where you want to go if you want a high end experience. The room is beautiful, there are a lot of dishes on the tasting menu (like 20) and it's not crazy expensive for what you get. The Dutch is in the W, and it's solid, Upland further south is also really good. Byblos is really fine Mediterranean food, Forte de Marmi is good Italian, and finally you have to go to Joe's Stone Crab.

1. Macchialina
2. Scarpetta
3. Prime 112/Prime Italian
4. Michael's genuine
5. Sugarcane
6. Pubbelly/Pubbelly sushi (little less fine dining but good food)
7. Uvaggio

The others suggested are good as well

I second La Mar

That squid ink dish is incredible. My wife and I and another couple split about 6 different courses. They were all great, but that one was definitely the stand out.

Not to highjack the thread, but can anyone also recommend some not so fine dining spots?

Looking for foods such as beef tips, hamburger steak, chicken cheesy sphaghetti, rice and gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice, etc. etc. I’ve been living in the area for nine months and haven’t found any places that are plate lunch types.

Have you ever used the app called “Zomato”?

You can search for different types of food in your area. They show menus, ratings, reviews, etc

I use it a lot when traveling

I would say most of Little Havana would fit your ask there.

I'm kind of a food snob so can't help with a lot of your asks. Like there are good burger places (Burger and Beer Joint and Krave) and some pretty good southern places (Yardbird, Swine) but they are more nicer dinner spots.

I don't know of any real down south country loving spots; those spots are more latin inspired in Miami
