Anyone live in and around the Miami area.

We moved to Miramar about 1 month ago. Tons of food options EVERYWHERE. Complete international fare, but most seem very commercial.

We like smaller mom and pop places and authentic food.

Found an awesome taco place in Hialeah. FRANCO'S Carniceria y Taqueria. It's pretty awesome. Limited menu, but great service and fresh food.

Doubling as a butcher shop inside of a small warehouse area, you get fresh Meats cooked into all made to order. Their fresh Pico de Gallo is great.

It is one of the better places we've found, and kind of stumbled on it.

Really looking for authentic pulled pork Cuban sandwiches. Have been a bit disappointed so far. All good, but none great.

Also, a really good brick oven pizza place.

Thanks in advance if you know the area and any good spots. Open minded to all options.

South Beach Munchies.

24hr joint. We ate from there 80% of the time we was down.

We typically hit North Beach and Hollywood on the weekends, but will check it out.

Any recommendations? Looks like a big menu

We were just down there in June.

Sanguich de Miami
Old's Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina

Both are on Calle Ocho in Little Havana and have really good Cuban sandwiches as well as other great dishes.

If you want an unforgettable sushi experience, Uchi in Wynwood neighborhood was spectacular.

Sounds awesome.

We've been going to 1-2 Marlins games a week when their playing home stretches. We'll check out either next time we're down there.

I do love great sushi places. And, they are truly a hidden gem based on a variety of factors.

I forget the name, but they have a Latin version of stewed chicken, and a fried pork chunks in a gravy that’s really good.

I got addicted to Cuban style coffee. Even tho the actual coffee isn’t from Cuba. (Thanks JFK).

Bunch of more places on Calle Ocho in Little Havana.

El Rey De Las Fritas is a good local joint.

I assimilate well.

I do love jerk chicken and Jamaican flavors in general. That may be my dinner spot tomorrow.

It’s a food truck with a handful of picnic tables under a big tent. We usually take it to go.

Those blue chips they make here are the best corn chips I’ve ever had.

Glad I'm not the only one. Last year I was in town and tried Versailles, it's supposed to be a classic Miami spot. It wasn't bad, just really unremarkable. I can get a better cubano sandwich in Edina Minnesota.

Am I missing something about that place?

Have been a couple times. The food is good, not great, But I haven’t had the Cuban. Versailles is a place you go more for the atmosphere imo

Versailles is decent. It’s one of those restaurants you go to, to say you “ate at Versailles”.

Only reason we went was because of the history behind it.

Stayed in an AirBnB above the Las Olas Cafe last time I was in Miami. They made a pretty good Cuban sandwich and had plenty of other plate lunches that looked delicious. Definitely had the mom and pop authentic vibe.

Garcia's Seafood and Fish Market. On the river. That was one of our favorite spots when we lived there. Good food and reasonably priced.
