Got everything under control here. Homemade rools dough rising, scalloped potatoes baking and the root beer glazed ham on the Traeger. Enjoying a glass of champagne(easy to grab glass without tipping it over while cooking).

Here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
Have a safe day if traveling!!!

Those rolls right out of the oven.

This was ham when done.....

Didn't get pictures of everything but here's a pan of homemade scalloped potatoes. This was really good!

I tried your roll recipe out the other day. I had some trouble with my dough rising....dont bake too often so what exactly does that mean?

I used a package of active yeast but I also bought instant yeast.

I've posted two different recipes here so not sure which one you used. Did you have to mix the yeast in warm water?
You need to make sure the yeast is somewhat fresh and not expired. Next you must use WARM water and allow it to bloom. Did you have the dough in a warm place to rise?

I almost forgot about the rolls Christmas Day and started late with the dough. Still rose well and so did the rolls.

Rolls actually got even bigger than this .

SOFT SWEET LIGHT ROLLS Author: Joyful Homemaking Cook time: 15 mins INGREDIENTS 2 packages or 2T yeast ½c warm water 2 tsp. sugar 1 cup hot water 1 cup milk 2 beaten eggs 1/3 cup oil ¾ cup sugar 3 tsp. salt 7 to 8 cups flour ( Start with 7 cups, then as you’re mixing it add more flour till the dough is just a touch dry, and not too sticky.)

Made this one. Yes, I mixed the yeast with warm water - the yeast was fresh. For the water, I just let my sink run on hot for a few minutes and then grabbed some what from that. I started to bubble a little bit and then i mixed it with the dry ingredients. The dough never really doubled and the rolls didn't get that big once I rolled them out. They tasted good but very dough and not light and fluffy.

Water may have been too hot and killed the yeast. Next time use water about 115 degrees and I mix in some of the sugar into the water. Yeast feeds on the sugar. Try again and I bet you have better success. You shouldn't have trouble getting rid of fresh rolls. LOl.......

Thanks. I guess I'll need to put a thermometer in the water next time.
