Fruit salad is a great idea, it works for breakfast or lunch.
Don’t overlook the simple stuff like hot dogs, served with a toppings bar: chili, cheese, pickled jalapeños, coleslaw, etc. Everyone loves hot dogs or just a chili bun, from the oldest to the youngest. You can mix it up with some polish sausages, the Aidells style chicken apple sausages, etc to give some variety from the usual franks.

Salads as a meal, with grilled or rotisserie chicken on the side: big greek salads with feta, red onion, cucumbers, romaine, etc. Easy, and everyone craves cool things after a hot day at the beach. Or do a chef’s salad with rolled cold cuts, quartered hard boiled eggs, carrots, cuces, tomatoes, etc.

A big pan of peach cobbler or brownies is a crowd pleaser, esp with vanilla ice cream.

The biggest group cook tip: you can cook bacon on sheet pans in the oven. Line pans with parchment or foil, lay out the bacon strips, cook at 400 degrees for 20-25 mins. Depending on oven size, you can do a couple pounds at once. If you don’t want it for breakfast, you can have BLTs for lunch. Make some spicy mayo, mash up some avocados, etc. Or do club sandwiches.

makes life easier. And vacations are supposed to be an easy life type of week.

Ill get shite on for this im sure, but a staple of my family on beach vacations include getting 2 of the biggest stouffers lasagnas that they sell. That along with a salad and some sort of bread. It easy, cheap, and the best frozen lasagna ive come across.

You mean I don’t have to go to a crowded grocery and shop for ingredients to feed 18 people while on vacation? Don’t have to use shite cookware, crap stoves/oven in a small kitchen? Don’t have to waste hours of my vacation prepping and cooking?

Pop 2 large pans in the oven. Go to the balcony, open bottle of wine, light a cigar and wait for it to warm

Meatballs and spaghetti. The meatballs and sauce freeze well. Make a huge batch at the house, freeze, and bring to the beach. Get two of the other 16 to assist you with cooking the pasta, frozen garlic bread, and a side salad or some fresh green beans. Wash it all down with some red wine.

Red and white beans can also be made in large batches and freeze well.

We never do beach trips anyway, but I have to say heating my very involved lasagna that I made from the comfort of home would be legit.

When I get a certain level of vacation drunk, my cooking skills massively decline.

In my defense, my food is better than most restaurants

Geez, when we go to the beach, it's pop tarts or chick fil-a (which is directly across the street from our condo) for breakfast, hot dogs or sandwiches for lunch and eat out for dinner. My wife says it's vacation, and we ain't cooking. No matter how many people are tagging along.

We have 4 groups going to a 20 person cabin on the lake, each group has a scheduled day to cook.

We have fajitas, italian, pizza, and bbq scheduled.

Everyone will provide their own breakfast, snacks, and beverages.

Breakfast: breakfast tacos - scramble eggs, cook some diced smoked sausage along with onion and bell peppers. Top with cheddar. The smoked sausage is easier to handle than breakfast sausage when cooking for so many

Dinner: Hebert’s stuffed chickens. They have various stuffings, including boudin, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, shrimp, crawfish. Throw a few in the oven and it is super easy. They have an Hebert’s in Destin these days. Also have on near Bocage.
