Headed back to the ritz Carlton in about 10 days and looking for recommendations. Have been 2 times before so know if quite a few but wanted the boards thoughts.

Romantic Picks in Kapalua & Nearby

1. Merriman's Kapalua — Classic romantic choice right on the water overlooking Kapalua Bay with farm-to-table Hawaiian regional cuisine and sunset vibes. Highly rated for its elegant yet relaxed ambiance and beautiful views (reservations recommended).

2. The Plantation House — Elegant ocean and golf course views with a serene, intimate atmosphere. Great for special occasions like anniversaries or honeymoon dinners.

3. The Banyan Tree — Located at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua (your own hotel), this spot offers elevated cuisine and a romantic setting (often near outdoor fire pits and under trees).

4. Cane & Canoe — Oceanfront dining at Montage Kapalua Bay; refined Hawaiian dishes and a tranquil atmosphere make this a lovely option for couples.

5. THE POUR HOUSE Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar — Cozy Italian spot with rich pasta and wine selections that’s great for a romantic dinner close to Kapalua.

These aren’t in Kapalua proper but are excellent romantic dinners if you’re willing to drive 10–25 minutes:

6. Mama's Fish House (Paia) — Iconic beachfront restaurant with incredible fresh seafood and a picture-perfect setting (book far in advance)

7. Mala Ocean Tavern (Lahaina) — Casual-elegant spot with great food and outdoor seating—wonderful for sunset dinners.

8. Coco Deck (Lahaina) — Beachfront dining with stylish island vibe and ocean views.

9. Hula Grill Kaanapali & 10. Leilani's on the Beach — Classic West Maui spots with sunset views right by the sea; perfect for a romantic evening walk afterward.

11. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar — Creative sushi and seafood with a lively yet intimate dining experience.

Seconding Merriman's

I would also recommend Monkeypod in Kaanapali. Close enough to yall.

Also, if you do the road to Hana, there is this shack called Huli Huli chicken. It is, bar none, the best chicken I've ever had in my life. Sells out decently quick every day.

Located steps from the Ritz entrance adjacent to the Kapalua course, I
have breakfast/coffee here every morning while staying there.

On the opposite side of Maui in Haiku but I really enjoy Nuka sushi. Also Saigon Cafe in Wailuku is legit for an off the beat place

If you get to the Kaanapali area, try the Honokowai Okazuya & Deli. Styrofoam takeout in a strip center but maybe the best food (and portions & value) we had on Maui. Rumor has it the cooks worked (or maybe still do) at Mama’s.
