It'll be interesting to see how another restaurant will do in that location.

Used to know the bartenders at Marcellos. Would drink really well over there. Tabs were like $10 and the tips were like $50.

I think two of those guys are now managers at some other well known establishments in town.

Hasnt Marcello's opened in like 3 different locations and closed?

I suppose this statement is technically true, the way it is worded.

Does anyone remember why he sold the place in New Orleans. I thought they were doing pretty well.

Pretty sure the one in Nola is still open. He closed the place in Metairie.
Seemed like business there was ok and I heard the excuse that he got offered a good deal to leave, but you never know if that kind of stuff is true.

Correct. The location at 715 St. Charles is open and doing well. They closed the Metairie location.

Business decision. The Marcello's Metairie location was a sublease/joint venture with the Coyote Blues folks who leased the property and built the building for a Coyote Blues location that wasn't successful. The lease was up and it was a business decision not to exercise the option to renew it. With Saltgrass ready to move in and take over, they shut down and the landlord was happy to have a new tenant.
